Physical Safe Space Programme (PSSP)


Physical Safe Space Programme (PSSP) at the Good Shepherd Seminary Boys Secondary School, Independence Layout, Enugu:

In April, 2018, Teen Africa commenced its 12 week’s intensive and interactive voluntary physical Safe Space training for junior secondary students of the Good Shepherd Seminary Boys Secondary School, Independence Layout, Enugu. The programme is designed to positively mold the character of teenage boys with a view to assisting them embrace healthy masculinity and lend themselves to the attainment of gender equality.

Here, participants are armed with tools to overcome timidity, learn to be assertive, learn to manage peer friendships and pressures in and outside school environment, prepare for tertiary education understand patriarchy, unhealthy masculinity, women empowerment, basic health and financial education as well as combat exposure to the temptation of irregular migration, drugs, gender sexual violence and abuse etc.

 

 The Teenage Development for Africa (Teen Africa) is a pan African not-for-profit, gender based, education youth development organization.
